The Environment Agency protects and improves the environment by working towards helping people and wildlife adapt to the impact that climate change is having on flooding, drought, sea level rise and coastal erosion.
We work to improve the quality of our water, land and air by tackling pollution and we work with businesses to help them comply with environmental regulations.
A healthy and diverse environment enhances people’s lives and contributes to economic growth, but we can’t do all this alone and so together with the Defra group, the rest of government, local councils, businesses, civil society groups and local communities, we work to create a better place for people and wildlife.
